One Direct Connect Named as Finalist in the 2021 ACSA Aged Care Awards

One Direct Connect trading as Meals on Wheels Central Coast, is pleased to announce that they have been named as finalists in the 2021 ACSA Aged Care Awards.

A finalist for the NSW/ACT Awards in the Innovation in Service or Design – Organisation category, One Direct Connect nominated a program, project or initiative that showed originality to improve the lives of older Australians.

One Direct Connect was delighted to acknowledge the work that One Direct Advisory (ODA) has done to support them since their establishment in 2018.

ODA, a philanthropic company for the benefit of Meals on Wheels Central Coast, has been instrumental in minimising cost increases to clients, assisted in reducing the reliance on Government funding, also providing cost efficient business advisory services to small to medium business.

All surplus for ODA activities flows to One Direct Connect in dividends and franking credits, for the ultimate benefit of Meals on Wheels Central Coast clients.

The ACSA Awards, to be held on Tuesday 26 October, will highlight the achievements of organisations across the country, and One Direct Connect is thrilled to have been recognised along with some major players in the Aged Care field.

The list of finalists for the 2021 ACSA Aged Care Awards can be located at ACSA – 2021 ACSA Aged Care Awards – Finalists Announced.

One Direct Connect trading as Meals on Wheels Central Coast currently deliver more than 15,000 meals to the elderly and People with Disability every month.

Narellan Pools Makes a Splash with Meals on Wheels Central Coast

When Narellan Pools Central Coast heard about the increased demand for meal deliveries to the more vulnerable members of the community they wanted to help.

Managing Director of Narellan Pools Central Coast, Anders Carlsson, recognised that local charity Meals on Wheels Central Coast had a need for an extra vehicle to assist with meal deliveries so approached them with a generous offer of a loan car.

Delivering around 14,000 meals to 800 clients per month, the iconic Central Coast company was thrilled to be approached with this proposal.

Meals on Wheels Central Coast CEO Dennis Taylor said that the use of the car has made a huge difference in managing the amount of deliveries that are going out on a daily basis.

“Due to increased demand for our meal deliveries, we have had to increase our delivery days from 4 days per week to 5.

“The use of the Narellan Pools Central Coast company car has assisted us with streamlining our meal drops to the more vulnerable members of the community to ensure that they get them in a timely manner,” Mr Taylor said.

“We are thrilled to able to assist such a worthwhile organisation,” Anders Carlsson said.

“Meals on Wheels Central Coast is a vital in bringing meals to those most in need and it was an easy decision for us. We are proud to be associated with this long standing community organisation.”
