Volunteers are the lifeblood of Meals on Wheels Central Coast. We are proud to have a committed volunteer base of over 160 people who service from as far north as Summerland Point and Wyee and as far south as the Woy Woy Peninsula and Spencer on the Hawkesbury River.
We deliver Monday to Friday between 9am and 12pm. Our outlets are located at:
You are allocated a run by our Client Service Officer which is anywhere from 3-7 meal deliveries and armed with all the information you need to deliver the meals. We provide an induction for you on your first day and can even accompany you on your first run. Meal Delivery drivers are reimbursed for the kilometers they drive using the ATO rate.
For over 20 years, our Community Restaurants have been serving up food, fun & friendships, proving that meals really are better when shared together. Our weekly Community Restaurants provide a fantastic social outing for all of our clients, offering morning tea, hot lunch, dessert and beverages, along with fun-filled social activities and entertainment.
We run four Community Restaurants every week:
Volunteering hours are between 8:30am – 2pm.
Our Assisted Shopping Program helps our clients remain engaged in their communities and assist with everyday living activities. The Assisted Shopping Program covers all of the Central Coast, and gives our clients a chance to shop at their local stores on weekdays with the help of one of our wonderful volunteers.
Assisted Shopping is offered in 2 hour blocks and the volunteer receives kilometer reimbursements.
